The H-DOX EHR brings physicians and hospitals time savings, cost reductions, quality      improvements and increased revenue.

  • Time savings - A complete patient record can be created in several mouse clicks, and     the CPT billing code generated with only a few more.

  • Improve Quality and increased revenue- H-DOX assists physicians in pay for     performance compliance and provides quality of care guidelines.
  •

    2.  How does H-DOX ensure patient data privacy and security?

H-DOX is fully compliant with HIPAA's privacy and security laws and maintains strict privacy of      patient medical information. We do not sell identifiable or de-identified medical data to third      parties.

    3.  What else does H-DOX require? Do I need to invest in additional hardware or software?

All you need is any computer with a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.

    4.  What does H-DOX mean by "enterprise-grade EHR"?

Enterprise-grade software is customizable, full-featured software designed to provide      stringent uptime, security and reliability. Small and mid-sized practices often have a hard time      achieving these benefits with limited resources for software and IT. H-DOX includes all the      benefits of enterprise-grade software regardless of the size of the organization, making it      the right choice for small practices and large hospitals alike. Additionally, as an enterprise      EHR H-DOX must addresses various needs of a medical organization and its many      participants. In addition to software for physicians that incorporates medical coding functions      and methods for sharing records, H-DOX includes a module for nurses and physician's      assistants, an application for use by patients, and a social portal for communicating with      other medical practitioners, networking, news and several other features.

    5.  What does the offline/online model mean?

A critical feature of H-DOX, the offline/online model allows H-DOX to be used and patient      records to be accessed through its browser interface even when the computer is not      connected to the Internet. Data entered while offline is saved on the local computer and is      transferred to the remote database when connectivity is restored.

    6.  What do I need to get an H-DOX license?

Just click here, fill in your details and sign up. (You must be a licensed medical practitioner      and have a license number issued by a state or national medical board).

    7.  What kind of support packages does H-DOX offer?

Free forum support is provided to all registered users. Small users can optionally purchase      email and 24-hour telephone support packages. Enterprise users can purchase a custom      onsite/offsite service and support package provided by H-DOX and its system integration      partners.

    8.  What is the relationship between the CDC, Columbia University and H-DOX?

In 2006 the CDC issued a request for proposals for an interoperable, patient-centric      electronic health record system that could be customized to include preventive care      algorithms and made available at an affordable cost to end users. In partnership,
H-DOX and Columbia University bid for and were awarded the contract. H-DOX collaborates      with Columbia University's Mailman College of Public Health (a CDC Prevention Research      Center) and the CDC to find methods for improving preventive care through EHR systems and      patient health record systems.

    9.  What integration services does H-DOX provide?

H-DOX has ready-made interfaces for integration with several hospital information systems.        We release APIs of the product to hospital IT departments to facilitate integration, and this        coupled with our unique XML architecture usually means integration time and cost are        reduced dramatically. Enterprise users can opt to work with H-DOX-certified system        integrators.
Please email any integration-related question to contact@H-DOX.com.

    10.  How do I switch to H-DOX if I am using paper? What if I am already using an EHR?

Regardless of what you were using previously, you can begin entering patient data in        minutes. If you are switching from a paper-based system, you can enter a patient snapshot        of important information such as allergies, medications, labs and habits, or you have the        option to scan and then attach the old paper records to the patient's profile. If you are        switching from legacy software or a previous EHR system, H-DOX has developed XLM data        migration tools specifically for healthcare applications that will make data migration        seamless and cost effective.

    11.  If I use H-DOX, will I be locked in?

H-DOX records are fully portable. H-DOX is based on an open XML specification and is fully        compliant with the HL7 clinical document architecture. This ensures full data portability and        exchange. Additionally, all H-DOX documents can be downloaded in rich text format.
